These stretches of the Dorset Stour offer the river angler several choices in swims and species to target.  On the right day good catches can be made on a variety of methods and baits.

  • From Wimborne town centre take the B3073 towards Canford Bottom roundabout
  • After approx. 1 mile turn right onto Brook Road
  • Park in Brook Road
  • Walk to the end of Brook Road, turn left at the river and walk dowstream
  • Access to the fishery is through the gate just past the flyover bridge
  • Coarse season - 16th June - 14th March
  • Toilets - NO
  • Parking (designated parking only) - NO
  • Club Key Needed - NO
  • Night Fishing - NO
  • Disabled Access - NO
  • Guest Tickets Available - YES
  • Species- Pike 15lb+ Perch 2lb+ Roach 1lb+ Dace & Bleak
  • Spend some time walking the stretch before fishing to locate the shoals.
  • Travel light.
  • Keep an eye on the wind direction if you're intending to float fish. An upstream wind makes control of the float easier.
  • Check the river levels on the website via the link buttons during the winter months before heading out.
  • Be aware of livestock in fields.
  • Please log any sightings of cormorants via the button on the website.
