FISHERY RULES

HANDY TO KNOW

Netherwood offers single bank fishing for approximately half a mile, the fishery contains a mixture of deep and shallow runs with a variety of different swims to try.  An excellent water for roving or trotting the float.

  • Coarse 16th June - 14th March
  • Brown trout 1st April - 14th October
  • Seatrout 15th April - 31st October
  • Please check local by-laws for spinning for trout
  • Guest tickets - Netherwood
  • Toilets - No
  • Parking (designated parking only) - Parking at eye bridge or the layby at Julian's
  • Club key needed - NO
  • Disabled access - NO
  • Closed season enforced see rule 2 of general rules of fishing and game fishing is allowed for trout and sea trout.

BREAM

Possible top weight   5lbs

 

 

  • Species on offer Chub 6lb+, Roach 1lb+, Dace 10oz+ Grayling 2lb+, Pike 15lb+, Perch 2lb+, Gudgeon, Bleak,  Brown Trout and Seatrout when in season.
  • Spend some time walking the stretch before fishing to locate the shoals.
  • Travel light.
  • Keep an eye on the wind direction if you're intending to float fish. An upstream wind makes control of the float easier.
  • Check the river levels on the website via the link buttons during the winter months before heading out.
  • Be aware of livestock in fields.
  • Please log any sightings of cormorants via the button on the website.
  • Approaching Wimborne from Corfe Mullen, park in the lay-by just before Julians Bridge
  • Leave the lay-by and follow the pavement back to the bridge, a narrow path leads down towards the river and the fishery can be reached through one of the bridge arches.
