FISHERY RULES

HANDY TO KNOW

This stretch of the Dorset Stour has good access from Julians Bridge downstream on the right hand bank and continues to the last field at Merly Ways. The stretch contains a good choice of swims which are suitable for the pleasure or specimen angler.

  • Leave the lay-by for the upstream boundary and drive towards Corfe Mullen
  • Cross the roundabout at the junction with the A31 taking the exit towards Corfe Mullen
  • Take the first left into Willet Road
  • Follow this road until you reach the farm gates and park in the lay-by on your left.
  • Access by walking through the first gate on the left under the by-pass, turn left along the dirt track and access the fishery by turning right at the end of the woods

  • Chub 6lb+, Perch 2lb+, Grayling 2lb+, Pike 15lb+,  Roach, Dace, Bleak, Gudgeon, Brown Trout and Seatrout when in season.
  • Spend some time walking the stretch before fishing to locate the shoals.
  • Travel light.
  • Keep an eye on the wind direction if you're intending to float fish. An upstream wind makes control of the float easier.
  • Check the river levels on the website via the link buttons during the winter months before heading out.
  • Be aware of livestock in fields.
  • Please log any sightings of cormorants via the button on the website.
