Dear Members,

I hope everyone is keeping safe and looking forward to the spring weather ahead. The lockdown and an otter present at Winterborne Zelston have presented us all with a somewhat difficult start to the year. I am pleased to say that as of today WZ is fishing well, the otter has disappeared and there are lots of exceedingly healthy rainbows waiting for you to try your luck or should I say skill. Those who are local and able to fish WZ are making the most of this resource whilst respecting the Covid rules.

RAWLSBURY Start of season from 3rd March.

We have decided to start the season at Rawlsbury on the 3rd March mainly due to the extremely wet ground conditions. A consequence of this is that it will not be possible to restock Cowleaze until the track dries up. So, for the moment fishing will commence on Chapmans as normal and on Viners lake. Please don't forget that on Viners it is catch and release using barbless hooks. This is important in order to preserve the condition of the fish released. The trout in Viners have been fed during the winter and should be a real challenge.

Can I also restate that although we are nearly at the end of the lockdown period we should all continue to follow the rules. In particular, we are not using the fishing hut and any of its facilities and nor until I advise differently are you required to sign in at the farmyard.

Lastly, please remember to send me email returns of your fishing even if you have not caught any.

Best wishes

Paul Baker
