HANDY TO KNOW

Longham Waterworks contains weirs, deep runs as well as a mixture of other swims suitable for all types of angling with a good chance of a specimen fish.

  • From Ferndown, follow the Ringwood Road towards Longham
  • Just past the bridge House Hotel and immediately before Longham Bridge, turn right at the gates to the water works
  • Access through the gates is gained using the swipe card
  • Park in the Main car park
  • Coarse Fishing Season - 16th June - 14th March
  • Guest Tickets Available - NO
  • Toilets - NO
  • Night Fishing - NO
  • Disabled Access - NO
  • Parking (designated parking only) - YES
  • Club Key Needed - NO (You must collect a swipe card from Wessex Angling to fish this water)
  • Please follow the additional rules of the water company.

 

  • Species: Chub 7lb+, Barbel 14lb+, Roach 2lb+, Pike 20lb+, Perch 2lb+, Bream 5lb+
  • Spend some time walking the stretch before fishing to locate the shoals.
  • Travel light.
  • Keep an eye on the wind direction if you're intending to float fish. An upstream wind makes control of the float easier.
  • Check the river levels on the website via the link buttons during the winter months before heading out.
  • Be aware of livestock in fields.
  • Please log any sightings of cormorants via the button on the website.
