Please find below the proposed dates for this year's working parties at Rawlsbury lakes.

 

I know that many of you are not able to participate in these work parties, but I usually send the dates to all the trout anglers as a matter of courtesy. If you find that your situation has changed recently and you'd like to join in the fun, then please contact me and I'll add you to my list of possible helpers.

 

To be honest our gatherings at Rawlsbury are as much a social occasion as anything, and I'm sure you're aware that we tailor the work done to the individual. (Apparently the Game Secretary is best suited to drinking cups of tea, so hopefully I'll live up to expectations this season as usual). We start at about 9am, finish at about 1pm, have bacon sandwiches and coffee, and if people wish to stay on and do some fishing we offer a 2-fish ticket at a discounted price.

Back in December fourteen of us got together for a Christmas lunch and enjoyed a very pleasant couple of hours in a pub at Blandford. So if you fancy a day out and the chance to get to know some of your fellow anglers, you're more than welcome to join us.

WINTERBORNE ZELSTON

 

The fishing at Zelston is going very well this month. Fish of up to 9lb have been landed. The forecast for the next few days looks much better, with warmer temperatures and less wind. If you have the chance please take the opportunity to go there and enjoy some the excellent fishing. Please note that the Red Post Garage has closed so tickets will not be available from this source.

 

RAWLSBURY

 

Rawlsbury has been stocked prior to the opening of the complex on 1st March. Chapmans and Cowleaze have been stocked with some stockies fish from  Iwerne Springs Fish Farm and then larger fish and a few browns have been stocked into Chapmans from Mere. Thankfully the unseasonal dry weather meant the stocking lorries could get on site without difficulty.
