A warm welcome to the WDAC Game section. The Club has two beautiful dedicated trout venues, three lakes in total at Winterborne Zelston and Rawlsbury.

JUNE LAKES REPORT 2nd Ed.

Dear Fellow Trout Anglers

Just a very quick note. Yesterday we did a top up stocking of rainbow trout at Winterbourne Zelston. The water is still (just) flowing so we have a few more weeks hopefully of good, clearwater fishing at Zelston before the water level drops to make things more difficult. Although there are still reasonable numbers of fish in Zelston from pre lockdown and I am still seeing enough on my "look see” visits, the numbers have clearly been thinned out and the remaining fish have wised up and become more challenging, hence we thought a top up would maintain the excellent sport we’ve all enjoyed since lockdown eased. The fish we stocked yesterday averaged 3lb 11oz and were in superb condition. Interestingly, before we stocked yesterday afternoon, some excellent trout had been caught earlier in the day and further excellent fish were caught after the stocking, including a new Personal Best for one angler at over 5lbs

We continue to monitor the catch returns from both Zelston and Rawlsbury to help inform our stocking and restocking activities, so thank you to everyone for your emails and reports, they are really very helpful.

Trout tickets are available online to members to buy using Paypal but you require a password to access the 'Buy Tickets Page'.

When using a PayPal receipt please record your catch return and PayPal purchase on the special tickets provided at the venues and post this in the returns box; as well as recording on the catch return sheets.
