Club venue's - your essential guide

DURWESTON MILL

A peaceful stretch set in beautiful Dorset countryside, The fishery has a mill pool, a weir and both shallows and deep runs which offer a wide variety of fishing challenges.

DIRECTIONS

  • From Wimborne, take the B3082 until you reach Blandford. Turn right and follow the signs to Stourpaine
  • Continue until a set of traffic lights, at which you turn left on the A357 to Durweston.
  • In Durweston, take the second turning on the right, Mill Lane. This is immediately after Water Lane.
  • Do not park at the Mill itself, tackle can be dropped off here but vehicles will need to be moved back to the top of the lane.

HANDY TO KNOW

  • Spend some time walking the stretch before fishing to locate the shoals.

  • Keep an eye on the wind direction if you're intending to float fish. An upstream wind makes control of the float easier.
  • Check the river levels on the website via the link buttons during the winter months before heading out.
  • Be aware of livestock in fields.
