BUGGS AND MAITLANDS

These two stretches of the Dorset Stour hold good shoals of roach including some specimen size chub, pike alongside the usual Stour species. These stretches can fish very well in winter when conditions are suitable.

DIRECTIONS - BUGGS

  • Take the A350 from Poole towards Blandford
  • As you enter Charlton Marshall, take the second right after the Charlton Inn, Gravel Lane
  • Parking is permitted half way down the lane on the left hand side
  • To access the fishery walk to the end of the gravel lane. Take a footpath to a drive with a house on the right. Cross the drive and go over the style into the field. There is a small bridge and a gate about 150 yards further. Cross the bridge and enter the field through the gate. The fishery is directly across the field.
